Valentino is one of my favorite contemporary fashion houses. I love their clothing design for women, but even more, their ad campaigns. These ladies dressed in black and white are from one such advertisement in 2015.

Around the time I made this piece, I had just made several pieces from the Good Packaging series, which deal mainly with collage. I really wanted to change things up, to paint and draw.

I created this piece using charcoal, ink, decorative gold glitter paper, graphite, and colored pencil on a cradled wood panel. The dimensions are 30 x 30” and the panel is 2” deep and painted black on the sides.

The front is signed and back has a wire so you can hang it easily on a nail.
