Give Me Some Sugar

90.00
sold out

acrylic, graphite, paint pen, and UV protectant matte varnish on birch plywood

approximately 10” wide and 1/2” thick

When I was younger, my grandfather always said “Give me some sugar” when he’d see me. He was a good man, and southern through and through. The sugar bowl was designed by me. I looked at a lot of different vintage ones and grabbed different aspects I liked from each.

The spoon is metallic gold and has texture to it. The writing in the sugar was actually written first into the wet paint and then embellished. The cream color of the outside of the container is textured, and the rest is flat.

The back has a metal bracket on it for hanging on a nail. It is signed and dated on the back as well.
